The Ultimate Guide to Weirs Beach: Parking, Piers, and Private Dock Pick-Ups

The historic blue and neon Weirs Beach directional arrow sign standing at the entrance to the boardwalk in Laconia, New Hampshire, under a clear blue sky.

Welcome to the hub of the lake. Whether you're meeting us here or requesting a private dock pick-up, Weirs Beach is the gateway to your Winnipesaukee adventure.

Weirs Beach Guide: Parking, Food & Private Dock Pick-Up Options:

If you’ve ever visited Weirs Beach on a Saturday in July, you know it’s the heartbeat of the Lakes Region. It’s vibrant, nostalgic, and busy.

At Cardinal Charters, we want your experience to be stress-free from the moment you leave your house. Whether you’re meeting us at our home base in Laconia or having us come to your front door, here is our local guide to a seamless lake day.

🅿️ 1. The "Captain’s Secret" to Weirs Beach Parking

If you are driving in to meet the boat, parking can feel like a sport. Here is the local breakdown:

  • The Boardwalk Meters: Perfect for shorter 4-hour sunset cruises, but they fill up by mid-morning.

  • Lakeside Avenue Lots: There are several private pay-to-park lots behind the main drag.

  • Early Bird Advantage: For 9:00 AM charters, parking is a breeze. For afternoon slots, give yourself an extra 20-30 minutes to navigate the boardwalk traffic.

🏠 2. The Ultimate Luxury: Private Dock Pick-Ups

Don't want to deal with the Weirs Beach traffic? Let the boat come to you.

  • Door-to-Dock Service: If you are staying in a waterfront rental or own a home on the lake, Cardinal Charters offers private dock pick-ups. We can pull right up to your pier, load your group, and start the charter immediately.

  • How it Works: Simply mention your location when booking. While we primarily operate out of the Weirs Beach area, we can often arrange pick-ups in Paugus Bay, Meredith, or nearby coves.

  • The Benefit: No parking fees, no crowds, and no designated drivers needed for the trip to the marina. It’s the true "VIP" way to experience the lake.

🍔 3. Pre-Charter Eats: Fuel Up Before You Boat

Every Cardinal Charter is BYOB-friendly, but if you want to grab something fresh before we depart the Weirs:

  • The "Boat Sandwich": Grab a few wraps or a charcuterie box from a local deli on your way in. They are much easier to manage on a moving boat than a burger!

  • Post-Charter Celebrations: Once we dock at the Weirs, head over to The NASWA Resort (NazBar) for a tropical drink or Tower Hill Tavern for live music.

📍 4. Finding Your Captain at the Public Docks

If we are meeting at the Weirs, finding the boat is easy:

  • Where to meet: We pick up at the Public Docks located right along the boardwalk.

  • Look for the Cardinal: You’ll spot our brand-new 2026 Viaggio Lago Z24S. I’ll be there in my captain's gear ready to help you load your bags and coolers.

  • Timing: Please aim to be at the dock 10–15 minutes early. This ensures we get through our safety briefing and out to the open water on schedule.

⚓ 5. Why Start (or End) at Weirs Beach?

Departing from the central hub of the lake means we are in The Broads in minutes. You get less time idling through "no-wake" zones and more time seeing the Ossipee Mountains or cruising past the estates of Governors Island.

Final Thought

Whether you meet us at the historic Weirs Beach boardwalk or we pull up to your private dock, our goal is the same: a perfect day on the water where you don't have to worry about a thing.

Captain Chris

I’m Captain Chris, owner and operator of Cardinal Charters.

Lake Winnipesaukee isn’t just where I work, it’s a place I know inside and out. From navigating the tricky “Witches” to pulling into quiet coves most people never find, my goal is to give you an experience you simply won’t get from a rental.

As a licensed captain, I believe a great day on the water comes down to two things: uncompromising safety and an effortless, stress-free vibe. I handle the boat, the timing, and all the details; so whether you’re at Braun Bay celebrating or cruising past Governors Island, you can actually enjoy the day with your group.

I built Cardinal Charters to be different. Our 2026 luxury tritoon isn’t just a boat, it’s your private space on the water, designed for up to 14 guests to relax, celebrate, and stay together.

My goal is simple: to make your time on the lake feel easy, memorable, and worth every minute. Your playlist. Your pace. Your friends and family. I’ll take care of the rest.

See you at Weirs Beach,

Captain Chris
